  • Can you take Excedrin while pregnant or breastfeeding?

    If pregnant or breastfeeding, ask a health professional before use. It is especially important not to use aspirin at 20 weeks or later in pregnancy unless definitely directed to do so by a doctor because it may cause problems in the unborn child or complications during delivery.

  • Why does Excedrin contain caffeine?

    Caffeine has been found to enhance the pain-relieving function of aspirin and acetaminophen when used in combination, as in Excedrin Extra Strength.

  • How many Excedrin can I take in a day?

    Adults and children 12 years of age and older should follow the below dosage guidelines. Refer to the product packaging for full instructions and directions.

    Excedrin Extra Strength – 2 caplets every 6 hours (max. 8 per day)

    Excedrin Tension Headache – 2 caplets every 6 hours (max. 6 per day)

    Adults age 18 or older should follow the below dosage guidelines when taking Excedrin Migraine. Under 18 years of age: ask a doctor.

    Excedrin Migraine – 2 caplets per day.
